Plant and animal cultivation counts as specified work for both Working Holiday visas, but only in the right areas: Regional Australia for the 417, and Northern Australia or Regional Australia for the 462.
What counts as plant and animal cultivation
- harvesting and/or packing fruit and vegetable crops
- pruning or trimming vines and trees for commercial plant produce
- general maintenance crop work
- cultivating or propagating plants, fungi or their products
- immediate processing of plant products
- maintaining animals for sale or for their produce
- immediate processing of animal products, including shearing, butchery, packing and tanning (not secondary processing)
- manufacturing dairy produce from raw material

Must be carried out in Regional Australia.
462 Work and Holiday
Must be carried out in Northern Australia or Regional Australia.
